Day 39

Happy 4 Months to me :) So today is going well as far as, all of my things are getting done *knock on wood* and the weather isn't too terrible since I'm inside! I've found, as Jeremy commented on my post earlier, that facebook has become less and less appealing to me (YAY FUEL FOR MY PAPER!) Maybe this is because John is gone or because there is not a lot of activity with my friends. Maybe there never really was to begin with and I made it up with hours of pointless stalking...I mean...interest-ing. I know that interesting is a real word but I meant to use it in a way that made it fake, hints the dashy doohikee. Anyway, my itunes go through is going! I'm in the last of my B's and I will DEFINITIVELY get through them before John gets back and wow, I just spell checked my all caps word and it's a real one...awesome. I hope I'm using it correctly since I didn't even know it was a real word. Either way, this whole getting ahead in my work thing is cool accept now I have more time for...more work! Darn it. Oh well! One must for only a few more weeks. Tootles and be safe

Weight Off My Shoulders

After a fabulous weekend I am done with the most pressing of assignments for the week and it's only Tuesday! I can't help but notice though, that every time I get on that beloved Facebook, I can't look at it the same! I analyze the applications and I check out what is really being published on my wall. This is like freshman year of high school when I learned sentence structure pieces like clauses and diagramming sentences. The teacher was so awesome and I learned so much that I started analyzing billboards as I rode around. Lame, but it happened. This class is transforming the way I look at Facebook just like The Dobynator transformed my look on sentences. Thanks, I guess. All of these papers have made a difference too because I'm looking for my paper filling in Facebook which I know is the whole point but as head of the Procrastinators (meeting...tomorrow btw) this is a big deal for me. I still like Facebook and I still publish pictures and keep it up all the time but it's different now. 45 Days and I'm livin' the life. Thank you homework for being done enough that I can eat and not worry about a due date =) <3JDA<3

Last of Our Lives

Happy Last February 28th 2011 ever ever ever!! Today marks a long line of school work for me because this past weekend I was on tour with Chamber Choir and did not get anything done! I stayed up until 2:30am last night/this morning getting Core done and now onto the English essay which of course has no excuse to wait on, but I am working. I leave facebook up when I do it because I reference the feed of our class and my friends will chat me saying "hey, what's up?" I say homework and they say "me too"...obviously. I find it humorous. Facebook is a giant distraction and it is almost assumed that there needs to be some sort of distraction when you are doing work. People used to work with music on and I feel like they work with facebook now but it is counterproductive. I do both, yeah, multitasking but I'm a woman so I can. It'll be a long night tonight too. Scholarship

Hi :) SO I'm using facebook to try and advertise, but I'll do it here too! My profile (the link at the bottom) hosts a voting for a 2,000$ scholarship and I'd appreciate if you voted. There are 6 pics so any of them will do, and vote as many times as you want...really...do it! The scholarship is for the Best Facial Feature and I chose my eyes. Help please! Post on facebook and use that social network! http://www.brickfish.com/pupallie4

Facebook is and is Not and I am Willing to Argue

The assignment was to find some articles that interested us, so I visited my friend "insidefacebook.com" and just started clicking. That will be my main source of information because there is just SO MUCH and so much variety. Anywhodeeday, a particular article was entitled "Facebook Implements Page Wall Post Comment Spam Filter" and it's about spam basically and what facebook is doing to prevent it/draw attention to it. My initial reaction was not one of complete praise, but at least Mark and the team recognize that it's going on. It's interesting because some of the things the article says facebook does to draw attention to the spam, I didn't even notice before. This is controversial because the argument could be made that the precautions are enough or are not enough or that there should be more in the form of blah blah blahdiddyblah. Questions I have would be: IS it enough? What does the shading really do for this issue? What's happening to the spammers? How do you even spam?!
The second article I didn't even think I would go after, but it's "Heartbroker Facebook Dating App Recruits Friend Feedback." Apparently "HeartBroker" is a dating app on facebook and apparently there are many of them! My initial reaction was...this is on facebook? What am I missing, because apparently I know nothing about what's really on facebook? I found it interesting how the application takes friends judgments on the person and uses them in the matching up with other people. This is controversial because it puts a barrier between facebook being a social networking site and facebook being an EVERYTHING! There are children on facebook (whether that should be allowed or not) and what if they got on there? Questions I have are: How do you find out about this? If you do not go back to access it, does the profile delete? Is is just traits that go up or is it sexual content not appropriate for under 18? Why is it better than another dating site?
I'm pretty interested in this now...thank you February 2011 archive!

Not An Easy Task

So I would like to begin with the statement that I feel like I start all of my posts with so...ok next! I would like to have my second statement be that my computer does not allow the posted adds on facebook because my daddy blocked it and my roommate's computer has too much spyware so hers did not either and it was too late to go to the library/I forgot so I decided to use my OTHER best friend's computer! YAY! SO either way my caps was still on AND I have adds =)

Add 1: Lights Unlimited Inc.
Apparently and quite obviously I am not a bright student and facebook is just trying to help! It logs how long I have been active on the site and has definitely added up all of the hours in a day and realized there is no way I can be on facebook so often and still manage to get homework done. OR maybe it's a good guesser and I'm totally off. Doubt it. Thanks facebook but I don't click adds, not only because I don't get any, but because adds cause viruses and I cannot afford a new computer everytime I want to become a bright student! SACRIFICES MUST BE MADE QUEENS! That is all.

Add 2: 5 Free Song on Itunes
So my whole "Thanks facebook but I don't click adds" thing was about to not apply here! I am a music buff, not sure if you know and so facebook probably logged into the interconnections of my computer and saw how often I was on itunes which is just as much if not more than facebook and made assumptions. That Mark Zuckergberg, doesn't he know what ASSUptions do?! Well I did not fall for it, mainly because you have to have an American Express Card to do it and I do not have a credit card seeing as you cannot have one without a cosigner unless you are 21. Bummer. Soon my itunes, soon.

Add 3: Firehouse Subs
Facebook has gone TOO FAR! I can take a crack at my bright verses blown out educational level of life but my weight is too far Mark, too far. I am so self conscious because I am just so darn good looking! I understand that it's a rarity and facebook trying to make me break everything I know and eat a...a...SUB! From a Firehouse? Is that even sanitary? I do NOT know those firefighters and I do NOT respect or accept their judgment on me and their idea that peer pressure is a good idea! Don't they teach like, self-esteem, don't be dumb classes? ANYWAY, I just...I had to take a breather after seeing this one because I hadn't eaten real food (something not tofu) since 5th grade AND I was appalled! Well facebook, no more! I will NEVER eat a sub from a gross, strange, old and decrepit firefighter and you cannot make me! Goodness me. Well back to my Spanish Italian Cult of Organic Growing Tomato Eating Vegitarian Gators Named Frankferd the Carl Pushing Llama. Thank you. Tofu, you rock.

Just the Start to the End

So I have started a blog post already today and made more than a page before deleting it. It wasn't right. What's right? Not the last post. So, I've been doing some research by experience for the paper and found that the Bouncing Balls game on facebook is far better than homework (for other classes, of course). Darn that Mark Zuckerberg (and yes, since this class I have been cursing him by name and acting as though that means something). Facebook is indeed a crazy thing. My boyfriend and I have a running playlist of "our" songs in one of the messages and I have been adding to it since he left because facebook isn't just connecting, but it's keeping what you have and making new relationships, or building rather. I'm not really sure where to go with this, but I really feel like a writing mood and my day has def. not been bad at all. I wrote a version of "Frosty the Snowman" for my guitar class that I am quite proud of and have gotten some work done. Productive if you ask me. Music, (which I'm listening to now, I'm at 49 days worth!) is my life and I really rely on it. I probably should take more advantage of the application on facebook but I don't like having to give out my information to use it. I suppose I could post songs all the time, but I think that would clog up my "friend's" newsfeeds (is that one word?) and I could not do that to my dear loves. Therefore, I multitask as most women can do exceptionally well (as well as drive, although I cannot honestly speak for any woman but myself). It's John's 21st today, the day after our 3 month. I finally got a letter saying that he got MY original 9 page letter and it said he loved the long letters :) That makes me so happy. I had honestly been pretty lost without being able to just write random things to him although I know I have this and my "daily log of love" but it isn't the same. Oh well. I'm glad I have that back. I of course post everything on facebook for his parents to see and his family because he writes me the most. Happy Birthday baby and goodnight l0stf0rw0rds
